Task forces and working groups

The diagram below represents the areas for submission of proposals for the FY15-16 experimental campaigns. For the purpose of organizing the discussions during the post-ROF breakout sessions, the ROF proposals will be collected in bins corresponding to the red (Torkil Jensen Award), yellow (High Priority Task Force) and blue (Physics Area topics).

Run time guidance for priorities and guideline allocations for program time will be allocated by the DIII-D Director (Mickey Wade) in consultation with the Deputy Director and RC Chair (Dave Hill), the Experimental Science Director (Richard Buttery) and Physics Group Leaders. It should be noted that this is not expected to specify the entire campaign; innovative and imaginative proposals are invited in all areas relevant to magnetic fusion energy. Broader programmatic considerations of possible logical next steps for each group are also detailed in links further below, which provide some context on where each field has got to.

It is anticipated that a final notification of the allocations will be distributed in April, 2015, after presentation of the proposed experiment selections by group leaders.

It should be noted that this represents a perspective of "possible logical next steps" in each area, based on review of 2014 progress and long range objectives, rather than a detailed program selection for 2015-16.
