Brainstorming at various levels is beginning, both amongst the DIII-D leadership and groups within Experimental Science and BPMIC. These are considering various strategic questions, high level research directions to emphasize, and associated requirements of resources, including major hardware developments.
A community Long Range Planning Workshop is planned for Dec 1-2, 2016 at General Atomics (Rm 15-019). For offsite visitors wishing to attend who do not have an active GA badge, please contact Anastasia Nycum to organize onsite access. Remote participation will also be made available.
Links for submitting both strategic input (high level views about the role of DIII-D in the world and US fusion programs in the 2019-2024 period) and more specific research ideas (particular activities and areas of research emphasis) can be found in the navigation bar to the left. Requests for time to speak at the Long Range Planning Workshop can be made at the time of submission. Further details on the format for such presentations will be provided shortly.
