Planning your trip

Airports

Two airports provide domestic and international arrivals and departures to Southern California.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the larger and busier of the two, with hundreds of daily flights in and out of the region. LAX is located 100 miles west of the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center and is about three to three and a half hours away by rental car or shuttle.

Closer to Lake Arrowhead is Ontario International Airport, about 45 miles away from the conference facility. You may wish to compare flight costs and arrival times to see which airport would be best suited to your needs.

Ground transportation

While local bus service is available in the Los Angeles metropolitan region, it is not recommended for travel to the UCLA Conference Center. We recommend the use of rental cars, taxi service, or airport shuttle services. Each airport website lists available options to and from the airport of your choice.

We're also organizing a shuttle bus service to pick up attendees at set times from either Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) or Ontario International Airport (ONT)

Travel documentation

Many non-U.S. citizens will require a visa to travel to the United States for tourism or for study.

The U.S. Department of State offers a helpful webpage to assist you in determining what documents you'll need to enter the country.

If you believe you will need an letter of invitation to apply for a visa, please email Meg Murphy for assistance.
