First Announcement of the 18th MHD Stability Control Workshop:

An MHD Control Workshop with the theme: MHD Control for Steady State Burning Plasmas, will be held at Santa Fe, New Mexico. This is the 18th in the series and is organized jointly by Los Alamos National Laboratory, Auburn University, Columbia University, General Atomics, Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza, Santa Fe, New Mexico      November 18-20, 2013

• Topics: The workshop will potentially include the usual broad range of topics, exploring both control and underlying physics, but should seek to draw out implications to the work shop theme: 3D fields, wall modes, tearing, error fields, core modes, energetic particle effects, ELMs and disruptions.
• Publication: Invited and contributed talks will be provided with the opportunity to publish their work as a fully refereed publication as part of a special issue in Plasma Physics & Controlled Fusion. This is a way of drawing further attention to your work.
• Registration will open soon, via this website.
• A call for contributed proposals will be made in the summer, together with the announcement of invited speakers.
• A fee of $100 will be collected to pay for the coffee breaks and refreshments as well as the conference dinner at the Hilton.
• Hotel: Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza.
• Conference Dinner: at the Hilton and included in the registration fee. No host cash bar before the dinner.
