Arrangements for the Meeting of the ITPA Topical Group on Confinement Database and Modeling (September 29–October 2, 2003)

On the first day of the meeting go to the GA visitor reception center, main building with flags in front at the end of General Atomics Ct road. Plan to get there at 8 am to pick up your badge and then proceed to the meeting room 07-120 in the center of the large circular building. (see map of GA).

Please bring your presentations in pdf format. The goal is to make meeting presentations available on a CD.

Participant Requirements

Participants to the various ITPA Meetings must make sure that they perform the following actions (in chronological order).

  1. For those participants that need U.S. entry Visas, submit U.S. Visa application immediately to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in your country. Note that due to recent changes in the visa application procedures, the process time for Visa application has increased significantly (further details on visa application requirements can be obtained from the following website: http://www.UnitedStatesVisas.gov). Please contact your Topical Group (TG) leader (D. Campbell, Y. Kamada, E. Doyle, W. Houlberg, C. Gormezano) and local organizing person (see below) for invitation letters.
    Citizens of certain countries (visa waiver countries) do NOT need U.S. visas for entry.
    These countries are: Andorra Iceland Norway Australia Ireland Portugal Austria Italy San Marino Belgium Japan Singapore Brunei Liechtenstein Slovenia Denmark Luxembourg Spain Finland Monaco Sweden France the Netherlands Switzerland Germany New Zealand United Kingdom (also, Canadian citizens do no need visas).
    For verification on visa waiver countries see the following site: http://travel.state.gov/vwp.html. Citizens of these countries must make sure that they have machine readable passports (see the same site for more details)
  2. Complete and submit the non-U.S. Citizen form (Closed) by July 15, 2003. Note that submissions after this date can be accepted, but there is no guarantee that approval for entry to GA will be completed before the meeting.
  3. Make reservations at hotel of your choice.
  4. Complete and submit the registration form (Closed) by August 15, 2003.
  5. Complete and submit the cyber access form (Closed) by August 15, 2003. The completed form should be printed out, signed and faxed to Kristi Keith at General Atomics.
  6. Contact your TG leader to submit title of presentation, if any.
  7. Arrive at the GA visitor reception center by 8:00 A.M. of the first morning of your ITPA meeting to pickup badge.

    Note: It is extremely important that all forms be filled out by the deadline dates.

Computer Facilities

There will be two ways to access the internet for database work: 1) airport broadcast and 2) Ethernet cables. Since there will be a limited number of Ethernet cables, those with the capability to connect with the airport service should do so. Details on how to connect with each method will be provided at the meeting. To use these facilities the cyber access form (Closed) must be filled out and submitted by August 15, 2003 (see instructions above).
