The United States Department of Energy
(DOE) and the General Atomics Energy Group will host the
12th US-EU Transport Taskforce Workshop
Tuesday, April 17 to Friday, April 20, 2007
The meeting
will take place at the
Bahia Resort Hotel
in San Diego,
California
USA from Tuesday, April 17 to Friday, April 20, 2007.
The US-EU TTF Workshop is an international gathering of working-level specialists in transport in magnetized plasmas. As with past meetings of this group, the structure of the meeting emphasizes its workshop character. There will be one day of plenary sessions, containing preview talks covering important present and emerging transport issues. The remainder of the meeting is parallel sessions of the individual working groups: Core transport, edge and pedestal physics, and fast particle physics. The meeting should be of interest to experimentalist, modelers and theorists focussing on magnetized plasma transport.

Satellite meeting on Friday afternoon (April 20)
In addition to supporting the Edge Transport sessions within the TTF meeting, the Edge Coordination Committee will hold a special half-day workshop on Verification of Edge Plasma Codes starting at 12 noon on Friday afternoon, April 20, at the conclusion of the TTF meeting at the Bahia Hotel. The format will be one-hour sessions, each focusing on a specific edge physics topic. In each session, there will be a combination of a few talks and ample time for discussion. The suggested topics include verification of codes for kinetic plasmas, ELM linear stability, neutrals, plasma transport, and plasma microturbulence. Abstracts for possible presentations are due March 2 to the following people: Arnold Kritz (kritzlehigh.edu), Tom Rognlien (trognlienllnl.gov), and Daren Stotler (dstotlerpppl.gov). The agenda and further details will be available through the ECC web site http://www.mfescience.org/ecc/futuremeetings.html. Please send e-mail to the three people mentioned above indicating possible attendance. |
