Group Charter -- to review, discuss and carry out a critical assessment of the technology aspects of major proposed next-step burning plasma devices with an emphasis on ITER, FIRE and IGNITOR. This effort should also include an assessment of the research opportunities and potential benefits to technology development of the various options. The scope the Working Group includes magnets and power supplies, plasma facing components, plasma heating/current drive/fueling systems, vacuum vessel and remote handling systems, safety/tritium/materials topics, and costing. The Technology Working Group will work closely with the other MFE Working Groups.
