Main-ion-to-electron density ratio:

or scaling factor (see comments).

If RADIAL_PROFILE_METHOD=1,5, this acts as a local parameter, in which case the user is in charge of enforcing charge neutrality:

$n_e = \sum_{\sigma \ge 1} z_\sigma n_\sigma .$

If this condition is not satisfied the code will simply inform the user of a charge imbalance in the input parameters.
