The EFIT code is essentially in two parts. The main code "EFIT" is used on a regular basis for carrying out equilibrium calculations. This code requires a table of response funcions (Green's functions) that are computed a priori by the programme "EFUND". This programme must be run during installation and after any machine or magnetic diagnostic upgrades.
To install a version of the EFIT code, it is necessary to carry out the following steps:
Set-up directory structure and copy the relevent files into it (section 2).
Write the "ef950711.d3d" data-file (input file file for the EFUND code). This contains information specific to the machine (section3).
Make the necessary custom modifications to the "EFUND" programme (section 4).
Compute the Green's functions tables for a range of grid refinements, single and double precision (section 5).
Make the necessary custom modifications to the "EFIT" programme (section 6).
Create a new set of executable EFIT codes (section 7).
