EFIT Inputs

Parameters which control the solution method used and constraints on the solution are defined in several namelists included in input files specified as part of the EFIT initiation.

  • Input Files
    • SNAP file: A file named EFIT_SNAP.DAT or its various extensions. EFIT should be run in snap(3), snap_ext (7) or input (5) mode.
    • K file: A self-contained input file produced as output by EFIT input mode (5) run. Contains input data required for EFIT file mode (2) run.
    • R file: Fixed boundary input file. EFIT should be run in file mode.
    • X file: Free boundary input file. EFIT should be run in file mode.
    • ESAVE.DAT: Initialization of current profile for fitting mode (previous slice stuff).
  • Namelists
    • IN1: Main namelist input in K, R or X files. Image:updated.gif
    • EFITIN: Namelist in SNAP file.
    • INS: MSE data. Optional namelist in same input file as IN1.
    • INWANT: Advanced options. Optional namelist in same input file as IN1.
    • INVT: Toroidal rotation. Optional namelist in same input file as IN1.
    • INSXR: SXR inversion radius. Optional namelist in same input file as IN1.
    • INK: Vertical stabilization. Optional namelist in same input file as IN1.
    • EFITINK: Vertical stabilization. Optional namelist in SNAP file.
