ENERGY_MAX

Definition

Location of largest energy gridpoint, \epsilon_{\rm max}\,\!.

Comments

  • Exact Gauss-Legendre weights are used for integration over the interval 0 < \varepsilon \le \varepsilon_{\rm max}, where \varepsilon_{\rm max} = ENERGY_MAX.
  • Beyond \varepsilon_{\rm max}\,\!, the distribution is assumed to be constant (since GYRO solves for the deviation from a Maxwellian, the full perturbed distribution is therefore assumed to be Maxwellian beyond \varepsilon_{\rm max}\,\!).
  • Very accurate results are obtained with ENERGY_GRID=8 and ENERGY_MAX=5.0.
