AMP_PHI_N

Definition

Amplitude control parameter for n>0\,\! distribution function at t=0\,\!.

Comments

Let \sigma\,\! be the species index. For legacy reasons, we define

b_\sigma = \,\!AMP_PHI_N  \, \frac{16}{n_n} \, \frac{\rho_*}{0.00357} \frac{n_\sigma}{n_e}

There are two schemes depending on the sign of b_\sigma\,\!:

h_\sigma^{n>0} =
\begin{cases}
b_\sigma \cos^2(\theta/2) & \mbox{if}~ b_\sigma > 0 , \\
\left| b_\sigma \right| \cos^8(\theta/2) & \mbox{if}~ b_\sigma < 0 ,\\
\end{cases}

where \theta\,\! is the poloidal angle.
