AMP_PHI_0

Definition

Amplitude control parameter for n=0\,\! distribution function at t=0\,\!.

Comments

Let \sigma\,\! be the species index. For legacy reasons, we define

a_\sigma = \,\!AMP_PHI_0  \, \frac{16}{n_n} \, \frac{\rho_*}{0.00357} \frac{n_\sigma}{n_e}

There are two schemes depending on the sign of a_\sigma\,\!:

h_\sigma^{n=0} =
\begin{cases}
a_\sigma \sin(2\pi x) & \mbox{if}~ a_\sigma > 0 , \\
\left| a_\sigma \right| \sin^9(2\pi x) & \mbox{if}~ a_\sigma < 0 ,\\
\end{cases}

where x\,\! is defined as

x = (r-r_a)/(r_b-r_a) . \,\!
