U.S. Industry and ITER
The current design of ITER has an estimated construction value of about five billion dollars in 2004 dollars. With U.S. participation in ITER, U.S. industries would be called upon to build components and subsystems to ship to the construction site. Already, international industries, including ones in the U.S., participated in a successful $600M ITER R&D program which included seven large construction projects.
