Fusion Blankets

The ITER vacuum vessel will be lined with 420 blanket modules with a 10 cm thick first wall and 30 cm of shielding to absorb 14.7 MeV neutrons which constitute 80% of the fusion power. These blankets can be remotely installed and removed. Research blanket test modules can be evaluated in equatorial test ports.
