Participant Requirements

• Important dates
  • February 23: Deadline for non-US citizens or green card holders to register for participation
  • March 2: Deadline for all others to register for participation
  • March 2: Deadline for hotel reservations

If you are a US citizen and/or already hold a valid (during March 23-27, 2009) GA employee or visitor badge, the information below does not apply to you. Just register here and you're done.

Non US citizens who participate in this meeting, held at General Atomics, must make sure that they perform the following actions:

1. All participants should fill out the registration form
2. Those participants who require a visa (see below) in order to enter the U.S. should contact Brenda Bowman (858-455-3553) immediately!
3. Those participants who do not require a visa (see below) in order to enter the U.S. should:
   • Visit the the ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) web site at https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov to apply for a travel authorization. This is free of charge, but required under a new US law that took effect on January 12, 2009. You should receive an authorization number from the ESTA website. Note that although private, fee-based, services may offer to do this for you, it will not expedite the process.
   • Send the following information to Lupe Cerda (858-455-4155) no later than February 23
     • ESTA authorization number
     • Date of birth
     • City and country of birth
     • Citizenship
     • Passport number
     • Passport expiration date
     • Passport issued by which country
     • Employer name and address
     • Job title or position
     • Name and address of place of work, if different than employer
     • Proposed visit dates
     • Purpose of visit (Attend ReNeW workshop)
     • Email address, phone number, and fax number
4. When you arrive at GA for the meeting, you should be prepared to present your passport at the check-in desk
